Research – Entrepreneurs & Wellbeing

Interviews for this research have now finished. If you are interested in hearing more about this piece of research please email

Are you a UK-based entrepreneur*?

Is your current venture 1-5 years old?

Speak to me! I would love to hear your story!

Wellbeing at work is HUGE at the moment, with a lot time and investment dedicated to individual wellbeing. Most of this effort is focussed on employees, often in BIG organisations.

With SMEs in the UK accounting for over 90% of total private sector businesses, 60% of private sector employment and 45% of private sector turnover**, the wellbeing of those at the helm of these SMEs is important at individual, societal and economic levels. So, I want to know more about these entrepreneurs and their wellbeing!

The aim of my research is to explore entrepreneurs, their wellbeing and their communities/networks.

Participants will be asked to share their experience as an entrepreneur including general work environment, their own wellbeing, and any social communities or networks they belong to.

Participation in this research will enable me to better understand the psychological wellbeing of entrepreneurs.

This research is part of my MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology. Interviews will be approximately 40-60 minutes, and are semi-structured. This means I have some questions I’d like to ask but am open to what the entrepreneurs (you) want to share and will spend most of my time listening.

If you would like to take part or want more information please email me on

*For the purpose of my research, an entrepreneur is an individual who has started their own business having identified a new market opportunity and spends the majority of their working time on/in this business
